The Raddest Snow Fort

When heavy machinery does the plowing after a monster snowstorm, the result is some monster piles of snow. Mountains, really.

A. helped Cubby dig out a snow cave at the base of this mountain.

And then Cubby added a drop-down hole from the top.

Their continuous climbing on it has resulted in paths along the sides and a flattened place on the top from which to survey their domain. And blow bubbles.

Every child's dream, right there next to the house.

The plow guy knows JUST what he is doing.

As kids, the neighbors and I spent SO many days building igloos and snow forts. It's the best winter fun for kids. Ever! Glad your boys get to do that.

Awesome play for the kids, A. got to shovel, and you get to be in the house alone. All's good in snow country.

I'm sure enjoying all your photos of the epic snow, but am glad to be seeing it vicariously (despite the obvious fun to be had). Although I like snow from November through February, I'm glad to be seeing blooming trees out the windows now that it's March!
